Stephen LaBerge - Lucid Dreaming
Stephen LaBerge is the foremost leader of lucid dreaming today. Many of the most effective lucid dreaming techniques known were developed by LaBerge during his Ph. D research at Stanford University and at The Lucidity Institute, an organization he founded that promotes lucid dream research. LaBerge devised techniques in nearly all aspects of lucid dreaming including the spinning technique, which helps anchor dreamers to the dream world, and MILD (Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams).
One of LaBerge’s most important accomplishments is his published study that established a verified link between the dream world and the waking world. To prove that he was actually in control of his dream, LaBerge slept in a lab where his colleagues could verify he was deep asleep by monitoring his EEG. When he reached this REM period, he performed a series of eye movements that were pre-arranged – evidence that he was lucid and able to control his eye movement within a dream. It was this clever technique that finally brought applied science into the field of lucid dreaming.
LaBerge has written or co-authored 5 excellent books that aim to teach people how to properly lucid dream with easy and clear instructions. One of the best and most comprehensive books is “Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming.” There are plenty of techniques described along with a deep analysis of the science behind lucid dreaming. He also includes dozens of relevant stories to show you the perspective of ordinary people who have used lucid dreaming in various situations.
If you’re looking for more information about lucid dreaming techniques, the science behind them, or just a classic, in-depth, guide – you can’t go wrong with this book.
